Everyone is okay

No school today, so I decided to take the girls to the pumpkin farm. We had an accident when we were turning to go into the parking lot. Everyone is okay, but the car is probably totaled. Air bags went off, I lost my glasses, my door was stuck shut, and the girls were crying in the backseat. I was in a panic when the other driver came over and told her to call 911. I couldn't find my phone either. I finally got my door open and Mr Gust (the farmer) helped me find my glasses. I got Ainsley and Anna out of their carseats when I realized that they were okay - just scared. Mr. Gust was talking to Ains while I got Anna out of the car. At that point she was crying because she wasn't going to gert a pumpkin and see the animals. He was so sweet. He told her that he owned the pumpkin farm and that he would be sure that she saw the animals and got a pumpkin. He walked us across the street and Ains let Mrs. Gust hold her. She got Ains an extra jacket to put on when she said that her hands were cold. The sleeves were long, so she kept her hands inside of them. The ambulence arrived to check everyone out. Julie, the EMT that helped us, heard Ains say that she was scared. I was reminding her that Uncle Paul looks funny in all of his fire gear, but he's still Uncle Paul when she took off all of her gear. She said that she didn't need it and it would make Ains feel better. They gave both of the girls a small fleece blanket and a stuffed animal. It was so nice. I asked if the stuffed animals are donations - they are. I'm going to send some animals to repay the favor for another family. Paul arrived when we were done in the ambulence and took the girls to the pumkin patch while I finished with the police. The Gusts wouldn't let us pay for our pumpkins when we left. Everyone was so nice.
At dinner we always say what was our favorite part of our day. Ainsley's answer? The pumpkin patch.

Dancing with the Stars

The parents went in to do a dance tonight with Ainsley's class. Mimi Jan and Papa Jim came over to watch Anna for me while I was in the room with Ainsley. She kept telling me that she wanted Mimi to dance with her, but I did it when the time came. It was fun and I'm really glad that I got to do it with her. She keeps saying that her ballet shoes are too small. We just bought them in September. I'm going to take her to the dance store and have them checked. I don't want her in shoes that hurt.

Rapunzel

Ainsley has been asking for a haircut. I've been waiting because I thought that she would change her mind. She didn't. I sscheduled an appointment for this morning after school. Last night we looked for styles that she would like. She initially said that she wanted it very short. I told her that we would get some cut and go back if she wanted it shorter. I took the portable dvd player with some movies and some snacks to keep her occupied in the chair. What movie did she pick to watch while she got her hair cut? Barbie as Rapunzel. That's funny. The amount of hair on the floor shocked me. I picked some up to save for her scrapbook. She asked me why I was picking her hair up off the flood and gave me the "you're a crazy lady" look when I explained. It's very pretty and it's going to be a lot easier to maintain. I just hope that she doesn't decide tomorrow that she wants it all back.

Anna has a temper

Anna has been a pretty laid back girl. Today she let us know that she does have a temper. She threw a huge fit this morning over putting on socks and shoes. Paul had a hard time getting her into her carseat because she was doing that "stiff as a board" thing. When I picked her up from school at 11:00 it was the same thing. She wanted to go get Ains from her classroom. But Ains wasn't going home with us today since she had Kindermusik. Another big fit and the same trick when I tried to put her into her carseat. Fast forward to naptime... Putting shoes on to take Ainsley to gymnastics class... It was a day. Luckily Ainsley was in a good mood.

Parties

I slept in today. Paul had school and the girls were with Mimi Bev and Papa Ralph. It was nice. I set an alarm for 9:00 and ignored it. I didn't get much done, but felt rested. I did most of the clean up last night from the scrapbooking group. I realized this morning that I took down all of the table and should have left one set up. I vacuumed and set the table back up because we had Paul's MBA group over for dinner. His team is Amanda and Steve (they live together in Ann Arbor) and Billy. Billy brought his wife (who is gorgeous) and their 3 girls (also beautiful). It was really nice. Everyone headed home around 8:30. I've been hearing about them for a couple of weeks now, so it's nice to get faces to put with the names.

First Workshop

I had my first scrapbooking workshop today. I don't think it went well. I had 2 groups doing different things. I don't think that I was explaining enough things. It was hard having 2 projects going on at the same time. It was a large group and I don't feel that anyone got enough attention. I was doing it to try to get some new customers, but I don't think that happened either. Maybe it will be better next time.

Our Day

It was picture day today for Ainsley. Getting her hair brushed was tough. Paul did the brushing and I did 2 small braids. One on each side of her face. I wanted to do a French Braid, but she wasn't interested. Paul got her into the outfit I picked out with a small adjustment. She didn't want to wear the leggings with her dress. I'm okay with that.
It was Anna's afternoon with Mommy. I picked her up at 11:00 and we played until it was her nap time. She woke up just in time to pick Ainsley up from French class.
We stopped at Blockbuster to return a movie. I had some library books to return and it ended up being a trip to the library. Ainsley and Anna picked out books. I wanted to pick something, but Anna pooped and I didn't have any diapers/wipes with me. So we headed home and just beat Paul home. I was changing Anna's diaper when I heard him open the garage door.
I've been cutting paper and trying to get ready for my recipe book class tomorrow. I'm nervous. Quite a few people invited a friend to come with them. It could mean some new customers.
I took pictures today, but didn't get them off the camera yet. I'll try to do that on Saturday. I think I'll be pretty busy tomorrow, so why lie to myself.

My busy day.

I had a busy day. It looked something like this:
* Got up and got the girls to eat (some) breakfast.
* Got them dressed
* Tried to put a pony tail in Anna's hair because it's school picture day. She said ouch and immediately pulled it out of her hair.
* Said goodbye to the family (while taking pictures)
* Finally went potty
* Cleaned up the house because we got cleaned today.
* Packed up the car for the morning
* Took recycling
* Tried to drop stuff at Once Upon A Child (kids resale), but they didn't officially open for 15 minutes
* Drove thru McDonalds for coffee
* Went back to Once Upon A Child and dropped off stuff. It will be 1 hour
* Went to dad's house to drop off his scrip gift cards
* Went to the eye doctor's office downtown. My glasses are falling off my face and need to be adjusted.
* Upon leaving the parking lot (not a good time) notice that I have no money to pay for my parking. It's only $1 and I have it in change in my cupholder. All my change goes into they girls piggy banks and I deposit it when the banks are full. An easy way to save for them that you don't even notice. Unless you have to pay for parking. I owe them $1. I know - it's my money.
* Go to Target and return the clothes that Ainsley didn't like. Buy some little plastic bags for goodie bags
* Go back to Once Upon A Child. They'll buy some of my stuff for $10. Whatever - it's out of my house.
* Go to Kohls. Buy some ornaments and Pjs for the girls.
* Drive through bank for cash. We're supposed to go to the pumpkin farm today.
* Drive through Taco Bell.
* Stop at school because it might not be too late to buy tickets for Friday's Harvest Hoedown
* Go home and check answering machine message. I made a mistake on the scrip orders
* Quickly eat my cold lunch
* Go back to school to fix the mistake. Need to sneak into the office because Ainsley's class is out front and I don't want her to think I'm there to get her. Her classmates are looking at me funny, but I don't think she saw me.
* Go back home and work on my calendar swap. Oh crap. It's due to be mailed tomorrow. And I'm not done.
* Go back to school and pick up the girls. It has started to rain and the girls already have a cold with a nasty cough. We're skipping the pumpkin farm.
* Go home
* Referee a fight (or two)
* Tell Ainsley to get dressed for dance class
* Tell Ainsley to get dressed for dance class
* Tell Ainsley to get dressed for dance class
* Tell Ainsley to get dressed for dance class
* Change Anna's poopy diaper. While she wiggles. Oh man. I have poop on my hand. Not a first, but never fun.
* Walk the girls out to the car. Ainsley points out to Anna that Mama and Ainsley are wearing their crocs. And says "Anna, don't you want to wear your crocs?" I'm now rushing out the door. We have 15 minutes to get to dance class on time. Which we can do, but not with a shoe change.
* Load Ainsley and Anna along with Ainsley's dance bag, Ainsley's doll Bitty, Ainsley's Aurora Barbie, Anna's Baby and her Playschool purse into the car
.* Walk everyone/everything into dance class
* Try to get Ainsley to change her shoes. She says that her ballet shoes hurt. I send her into class carrying her shoes and dance bag. Sorry Miss Elissa.
* Mom and Jim arrive - it's date night.
* Stop at Kroger to pick up gift cards for scrip program at school
* Call Paul. Do I have time for another errand? No - he's home.
* Go home
* Leave for Wal-Mart. It takes care of some things on my list for tomorrow.
* Have dinner at Chilis. Our date nights are nice, but not real exciting.
* Go home
* Do dishes
* Start laundry
* Get the girls ready for bed
* Go to basement to work on the calendars for the swap
* Write in my journal - once again it's yesterday
* I need to go put the laundry in the dryer
* Brush/floss/go to bed
I never got my pictures off the camera. I didn't get my calendar pages finished. I'll have to finish them tomorrow and put them in the mail. Where were my bon-bons and soap operas?

We're going on a bear hunt

Ainsley and I had fun today. I picked her up from school at 11:00 and took her to the pediatrician's office for her flu shot. Some stickers and a sucker seemed to cure the ouch pretty quick. We drove through Wendy's and got burgers/chicken and a kids size Frosty. Ainsley loves to get ice cream. We came home and made cookies. I burnt them, but Ainsley said they're okay. Then we played "we're going on a bear hunt." We walked around and said the words. She really has the book memorized. She knew more of it than I did.

We're going on a bear hunt. Oh no. Grass. We can't go over it. We can't go under it. We'll have to go through it. Swishy Swashy.
Oh no. Water....
Oh no. A forest...
A bear! Run home!! to Paul's chair and cuddle. When my broken ankle started to hurt I sat in the cuddle chair and watched her run. I got out the camera and took some pictures. We have a digital camera. I might start taking a picture of the girls every day for a period of time. It would be fun. We'll see if Ainsley thinks it's fun.

I'm tired

I'm tired. I stay up too late working on scrapbooking projects and reading stuff online. I'm tired when I get up in the morning. I'm tired all the time. But I like to have time for myself when the girls are sleeping.
I've committed to too much this month. I have 16 people coming for the recipe book workshop and I'm not prepared. I have to make calendar pages for the swap. I want to make a new workshop project. I want to do Halloween cards and Christmas cards. I'm making calendars for Christmas presents. I'm behind on the girls scrapbooks. I haven't even started London or Anna's first birthday scrapbooks. I probably need to eliminate some things. I'll have to think about what's going to give.

My first entry

Well, I guess I'm a blogger now. I've made an effort to do a livejournal every day. It's worked. I've decided that I'm up to having a blog. I'm actually jumping on the NieNie bandwagon. I just started reading her. She inspires me, so I'm going to try. I love the idea of not being a buckethead mom. I admire how much she loves her husband. I want to love my life and myself as much as she does. She is an inspiration.

We took Ainsley and Anna shopping this afternoon. Ainsley was more interested in sitting in chairs and watching cartoons at Gymboree than actually pick out clothes. But she agreed to everything. We'll see if it lasts. She also got some new shoes at Stride Rite. It was a pricey day, but she'll have things that fit her. It's all good.
